Request for photos of Fr. Robert

A friend of the friars is making a DVD slideshow in memory of Fr. Robert. The slideshow will be shown at the reception after the memorial Mass on Thursday, and a copy will also be given to Father's family. If anyone would like to contribute pictures of Fr. Robert (they can be funny or serious) for the slideshow, please email them by 8 PM tomorrow evening (3/25/09) to Christian Carabajal at christiancarabajal@yahoo.com. Thank you and God bless you.

  2. I knew Fr. Stanion when he was still a brother. And he was a brother for many years before becoming a priest. (I still have a hard time not calling him Brother Bob) I've been a friend of Fr. Benedict Groeschel before he start the CFR brothers. Back then they wore the standard Capuchin Brown habit. I used to visit Trinity Retreat as a teenager. I met Fr. Stanion while visiting Trinity. I was from a dysfunctional home with a violent father. And had many insecurities. I was there as a guest because Fr. Ben reached out to help me cause I was "shell shocked" from my home environment. I had many thoughts of suicide. I was always feeling like "the worst person on the planet" because of my total lack of self worth. Brother Stanion was able to put me at ease with a smile and emphatic greeting. He was the one who made me feel ok with being there (since I did feel somewhat out of place). I was very grateful to have known him even though it was always just brief encounters but I doubt he ever realized how important his presence meant to me. In fact, I hardly ever talked to him after he became a priest but I was always thankful to have known him and memories of our brief encouters sparks cheer for me as bright as that sparkle in his eye that he always manage to show. Rest In Christ brother of Francis you deserve it!
